The UniFi Dream Machine Pro (UDM-Pro) is a 1U rack-mounted gateway that combines routing, firewalling, UniFi Network controller and storage slots for UniFi Protect video. For security-focused projects this “all-in-one” design can significantly simplify the topology, making it easier to understand, maintain and support over the long term. In Chicago North Shore buildings we often use UDM-Pro as the central hub in a small rack that also houses PoE switches and patch panels, providing a clean, labeled infrastructure for cameras, access control and Wi-Fi. Its interface gives building engineers and property managers visibility into traffic, device status and alerts from a single place.
