Product overview and installer notes
The UniFi Standard 24 PoE switch (USW-24-PoE) is a 24-port managed PoE switch that we use as a core distribution point for security and building networks. With a good mix of PoE and data ports it can power cameras, access points, intercoms and access control panels while still providing uplinks to routers and other switches. For Chicago North Shore projects we often place this switch in the main low-voltage room and then extend to smaller satellite switches on other floors or in garages. UniFi’s management interface shows port status, PoE usage and client information, which is extremely helpful when troubleshooting cameras and door devices. When configured with VLANs and proper QoS, the USW-24-PoE becomes a stable backbone for converged security and IT networks.
