Brivo’s cloud platform integrates with video systems so that access events can be reviewed together with camera footage. This is particularly useful for loading docks, garage entrances and high-value areas where video verification matters.

The readers follow one simple grid: three mounting styles — single-gang, slim mullion, and keypad — each in a dual-technology or tri-technology version. Dual technology reads Brivo Mobile Pass phone credentials over Bluetooth plus 13.56 MHz smart cards and fobs. Tri-technology adds a third radio for legacy 125 kHz prox cards, which is what lets a takeover building keep its old cards working while it migrates. Every reader is sealed against rain and dust, so the same unit works in a heated lobby and on a January gate. Reads are confirmed by LED and beeper, with a separate light for Bluetooth activity, and the mounting hardware includes an anti-tamper screw that a regular screwdriver cannot turn — it takes its own special key. The keypad models run either on codes alone or in card-plus-PIN mode, where a lost fob without its PIN opens nothing. OSDP connects them to Brivo panels, Wiegand covers third-party controllers, and the warranty on the reader line is 5 years.
The part residents notice first is the app. Setup takes minutes: the administrator sends an email invitation, the tenant downloads Brivo Mobile Pass and registers that email — and the phone becomes a full digital credential. The app sits behind the phone’s own biometrics (Face ID, Touch ID or the passcode), so a phone in someone else’s hands opens nothing.
The Magic Button lives in the app: one tap and the nearest door releases over Bluetooth, no scrolling through a door list. Readers running OSDP add a hands-free variant on top — touch the glowing Brivo logo on the reader itself, and if an authorized phone is nearby, the door opens while the phone stays in a pocket.
For an HOA board or property manager the appeal is operational. Credentials are issued and revoked remotely — a move-in happens by email, a move-out takes two clicks, and there is no plastic to print, ship or replace when someone loses it. The event log keeps the full history of who opened which door and when.
